Meet cute little Mr. O. I tagged along to assist my friend Mary for this baby shoot. At just over two weeks little O. was the most active infant I’ve ever met! He was practically holding his head up and rolling over!! Thanks, Mom and Dad for welcoming me into your home and allowing me to capture these precious memories of your new family!
Baby O with his Great-Grandma.
Four generations…
Okay, so this one is more of an outtake – but he was so cute even when he was done cooperating :)
Beautiful family moments:
And the realities of parenthood:)
Precious!
Thanks for looking!

I had the pleasure of photographing another great couple recently. Jen and Matt met while at Penn State, and have since returned to the Philly area to begin building a life together, which includes their beautiful new home, an adorable puppy (see Mason’s own photo shoot here), and now marriage. The reception for their 2010 wedding will be at the breathtaking Cairnwood Estate. While our paths didn’t cross at our shared alma mater, Jen and I became friends while working together over the last few years, and I was honored when she requested my help with this. Hope you love the photos!
This was my first visit to Cairnwood. There are many interesting details in the architecture and grounds of the estate.
They are so darn cute together!
Giving me their best GQ face:
When we finished shooting I got to go inside where Jen and Matt showed me around. Their day is sure to be beautiful and special with all sorts of personalized details:)
Thanks again guys for including me in this part of your celebration!!

AHHHHH! I’ve busy and slacking on my blogging! I still haven’t finished covering our summer vacation and visit with new parents Rachel and Drew :(
But, LOVE in the air! Fall is here and wedding season is wrapping up for the year. Tammy and Travis were married in September in a beautiful and moving ceremony in Nashua, NH! I’m way behind on blogging so their images aren’t up here, but you can see them on my facebook page. Then, my sister-in-law Jenn and her new husband Craig were married a few weeks ago on a what was a beautiful day despite some clouds and sprinkles (good luck for the newlyweds, right?!). I didn’t take any pictures at their wedding because I was tending to my bridesmaid duties:) But I did have the opportunity to photograph another lovely couple recently, our friends friends Jackie and Nick!
I was so happy when Jackie decided to move to Philadelphia to be with her then-boyfriend Nick after years of a long distance (coast-to-coast!) relationship. Mainly because I was excited to spend more time my good friend who is a great companion for everything from laughs, to drinks, to hikes:) But what I’ve appreciated most in times we’ve spent together recently was getting to know her future husband Nick and witnessing the love and happiness that they share together. We met up in Chestnut Hill for a little engagement shoot, and it was in those in-between frame moments where they shared laughs and genuine smiles that their love for each other shined through. I hope I was able to capture that in their images below. Thank you guys for letting me be a part of this special time in your lives!

Probably my favorite. Don’t they mold together like a perfect puzzle? :) And I could eat up those colors.

Nick’s all smiles over Jackie:)

I think this was his sexy face? Haha!

Jackie – beautiful inside and out!

Another favorite:

Now, don’t forget to save the date! Can’t wait for the wedding!

Don’t Miss Yellowstone!
I’ve wanted to visit Yellowstone, well, probably since my big sister K went there many years ago. I remember seeing the pictures and hearing the stories for the first times and thinking that I need to get there and experience it for myself! And when I finally did it was everything I hoped for and SO MUCH MORE! The weather was great, the camping was great, and the company was great. I have a lot of pictures to share so this page may take a while to load. First up is our campsite.

Matt made another great breakfast while we planned out the day.

First stop: Canyon area of Yellowstone River – hiked the North and South rim trails.

We came across this buffalo path in a meadow while hiking the rim. No buffalo today, but there were some nice big buffalo patties!

And we saved Uncle Tom’s Trail for last – not our brightest idea of the day. The legend goes that Tom Robinson would help people repel the side of the canyon and then row them across the river to the other side in the early days of the park. Of course, now there are steps to lead you down the canyon wall – 328 to be exact. And after a long day we felt every one of them going back up.

We went to Hayden Valley for sunset to see the amazing views of the Yellowstone river and the buffalo herds in the evening glow. We were also able to see 3 grey wolves chase a herd of bull elk out of tree line and stalk them as they grazed near the river!

The next day we ventured over to Mammoth Hot Springs.

A close up of the hot spring travertine terraces:

A view of Mammoth village and the dried up Minerva Hot Spring.

Ranger Nancy explaining how the hot springs form.

The hot springs moving in a suffocating the trees.

On the way back to Canyon we stopped for this great view. That’s the Grand Tetons in the distance.

Back to the campsite for lunch and a quick nap. I think this was right before a 8ft bull elk with a 5ft rack came galloping through our campsite. It happened so fast and he scared the crap out of us – so no pictures of him. But, its a story we’ll remember forever!

More hot springs and geysers in Norris geyser basin.

This is Steamboat Geyser – the tallest geyser in the world! Obviously not erupting right now.

Drove to Lamar Valley for the sunset this time. Found a nice spot to watch over the Lamar River.

The next morning we got up for sunrise in Hayden. Hearing the buffalo calls in the thick fog was one of the coolest parts of the trip!

And this is what they call a wildlife jam. Much preferred to my usual traffic jam!

There she blows!

We had to check out the Old Faithful Lodge

Pardon my pic, but I didn’t feel like getting my flash out:) This doesn’t even do it justice! The lobby is so cool!

This one’s called sapphire pool. Those are people on the boardwalk behind it – if that gives you perspective for how wide and deep these are!

Thermophilic bacteria. See, my degree is useful :)

A bubbling geyser.

Uh oh, a buffalo wandered off the path and into the scalding water.

Hot Springs spilling into the river.

A geyser in Yellowstone Lake.

Mule deer near the lake.

Dragon’s Mouth is a must see geyser. You wouldn’t believe the sounds it made gurgling in the cave – it was unreal. It definitely looked like a scene from Harry Potter! In my opinion, Dragon’s Mouth out ranks Old Faithful as the coolest geyser in the park. I didn’t get any good pics of it, but here is one of the other bubbling mud pots in the area.

We ended the night with a sunset dinner at the Lakehouse Inn. Goat cheese, raspberry salad, bison fillet, duck breast, and a Sawtooth Riesling and a table with a view. Wonderful!

Enjoyed the last chance to see the amazing night skies of Wyoming. Leaving early in the morning for Washington state.

In the middle of the prairies of South Dakota is the beautiful Badlands National Park. Words can’t completely explain the experience, so I’ll let the photos do some of the talking:) We had a blast climbing around the rock and checking out the trails. It was unseasonably cool there when we visited – highs were in the 70s and low 80s when they usually reach 90-100! But that’s much more enjoyable camping weather anyways. Below is a the view from Cedar Pass campground in the park.

Getting up close and personal.

Erosion takes its toll making the rock very loose brittle. They say that in 100,000 years this will all be gone!

Climbed the short summit of Saddle Pass.

Amazing views from the top!

Matt wondered off to check out a canyon.

The trail log for the day.

The next one is a prairie dog mound in prairie dog town. We stopped by in the evening and there were probably 100+ popping their heads out of holes and chirping around! Unfortunately, they were all camera shy:)

Wow! It was even more beautiful in evening light!

Headed back to our campsite for our great sunset views.

Talk about a view from bed!

Good Night, Badlands. HELLO big western skies!!!! The night was clear and the stars were just incredible.

In the morning it was back to the road and on to Mount Rushmore.

A view from the Presidential Trail.

Below was sculptor Borglum’s mold for the Hall of Records behind the faces in the mountain. He wanted the hall to secure important and historical documents about the nation’s history and the expansion west.

A sculptors class was going on in the park.

On ward through the Black Hills of South Dakota – named so for the dark bark of the Ponderosa Pines that stand tall there.

We drove a couple hundred miles across Wyoming and arrived at Yellowstone just as the sun was setting. What a perfect welcome to the park. Stay tuned for pics from there.

If you’ve ever driven across I-90 west of the Mississippi River you’ve probably seen a billboard (or a hundred billboards!) for Wall Drug. However, if you’ve driven I-29 in Missouri near Kansas City, you may have missed this interesting tourist spot – the Largest Ball of String!
Off the beaten path and tucked away in Weston, MO we stopped to see the ball of string that measures 19 feet around, weighs 3,712 lbs, and was once featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not. We were pleased to discover that this random treasure is housed in a brewery that’s a historic place all of its own. The Weston Brewing Company is one of the oldest breweries in the US founded in 1842. The building that is now O’Mally’s Pub is the tallest in this small town, but you’d never guess it by its appearance because 5 of the 6 stories are below ground! The deep caverns were used to keep the beer at cool lager temperatures.

We picked up a six pack of Drop Kick Ale to enjoy on the rest of the trip.

Then it was back to the road.
And of course once we reached South Dakota we had to stop at Wall Drug. This has got to be ranked among the world’s largest souvenir shops in the world and a tourist attraction all of its own!

It’s a T-Rex!

Next stop, Thebeautiful Badlands National Park. Stay tuned!

This is the first of a series of posts from our vacation pictures of our road trip from Illinois to Washington! So appropriately, we started our tour in the gateway to the West. And ironically, we followed a lot of Lewis and Clark’s trail to the Pacific. The first leg was visiting family in the Illinois / St.Louis, MO area. We stayed with Matt’s brother, sister-in-law, and nephews. While there I toured the neighborhood where Matt was born and visited with his Grandma and Aunt Barb.

Look me in the eye!

Josh and Alec on some of the cool sculptures in the park.

Matt enjoying showing up his nephews :)

Great view of the old city hall and the arch.

Checking out Busch Stadium.

We stopped at a finger-licking good BBQ joint called Pappy’s. I tasted the best ribs and sweet potato I’ve ever had! Then it was on to the Missouri Botanical Garden – a beautiful place as you’ll see!

Ornamental pepper.

The next are glasswork by famous artist, Chihuly. Later, on our trip to Seattle I learned Chihuly was from the Tacoma area and his work has been greatly influenced by experiences in the North Pacific.

A Glimpse into terrace beauty.

Thanks for showing us a great time, Steve, Julie, Josh, and Alec! We enjoyed hanging out and watching baseball with you. Wish we could have stayed longer. Stay tuned for pics from our next vacation destinations!

Sarah & Ryan 7-12-2009
*This post goes out with special thanks to my coworker, friend, and one of my biggest supporters, Mary, for inviting me to be her P2 at a wedding she was shooting. This was my first wedding and it was awesome to go through it with you, Mare:) *
Sarah and Ryan were married on July 12th in a lovely ceremony at the church where they first met. Those two have so many talented friends and family that helped orchestrate (literally) the day. You could clearly see the love that surrounded the two of them. Before the ceremony, we toured north Philly for pictures of the PCOM and (soon-to-be) Temple grads with the bridal party. Ryan scoped out some murals, a playground, and a nice view of the city skyline that worked out well as fun backdrops for the group. Sarah and Ryan are such an easy-going, fun-loving couple, as I think you’ll see:)
Thanks, Sarah and Ryan for having us as part of your big day. Best Wishes!

These guys were all characters!

Then…an impromptu football game!

The Gang and Posse! What a riot!

Little Miss Flower girl.

A beautiful moment for the new husband and wife!

On to the reception!

The festivities continued at the German Society of Pennsylvania in Northern Liberties, a 245 years old structure that was oozing with character! Just beautiful!

This one is one of my favorites from the day. The library there was just awesome! And with over 17,000 books, its the largest collection outside of Germany. If only I could read German:)

Congrats, again Sarah and Ryan. It was a pleasure to work with you!

Its our wedding anniversary!
Wow, how time flies. I can’t believe its been two years since we were married! Today, we celebrate the love that brought us together and the love that will carry us through the rest of our lifetime.
It truly was a beautiful day filled with so many cherished memories. Special thanks to all our family and friends for being a part of our wedding. Here is a snippet of our video for those of you who may not have seen it:
Tonight we’re going out to Davio’s – a delicious Italian restaurant, and also where we went to the night we got engaged:) What a day for reminiscing.

Zach & Andrea 6-20-2009
I’m excited to finally get this post up! This past weekend we attended the wedding of our friends Zach and Andrea at Edgewater Acres Inn in Alexandria, PA. Everyone was worried about the weather holding out for the outdoor ceremony, but thankfully it cleared up just in time for a beautiful ceremony on the lawn. We’re so happy for the newlyweds and hope that they feel relieved that the stress is finally all over:) Congratulations, Zach and Andrea! Thanks for including us in your wedding.
[Note - this post is a LONG one. It was so hard to narrow down the pics:) ]

The rain finally stopped in time to set up the ceremony.

The groom, looking a little stressed…

This was kind of the theme of the day:

The Inn was very nice! Well, except for our room. A little “problem” with the air conditioner, the short sheeted bed, and the hidden alarm clock that went off at 5:15am. All thanks to the groom and best man – good ones guys. You better watch out because we’re working on a plot to get you back:)

Andrea spent the day getting ready. Zach just had to iron his shirt:)

Here they come!

Mr. and Mrs.!

Cocktail hour. The Inn served GREAT food!

Railbender ale…nice!

WE ARE… ….PENN STATE

The newlyweds stealing a quick kiss.
